Terms of Use
Welcome to PDX Food Week! These Terms of Use are a simple agreement between us. By using this website, you agree to follow these basic rules. If you don't agree with them, please don't use this app.
1. The Details (Scraped Data & Accuracy)
Our app gathers details like restaurant names, dishes, addresses, prices, and photos from public listings—specifically The Actual Portland and EverOut—so you can browse everything in one place.
Restaurants sometimes run out of food early, change their prices, close unexpectedly, or leave the event. We highly recommend checking directly with the restaurant or the official event pages before you head out so you don't end up disappointed!
2. Who We Are (No Official Connection)
We are independent local developers and fans of Portland's food scene. This website is a fan-made project and is not officially connected to, sponsored by, or affiliated with:
- The official organizers of Portland Burger Week, Pizza Week, Taco Week, Nacho Week, Highball Week, or any other food week events.
- The publications hosting the event lists (like The Portland Mercury, EverOut, or Index Newspapers).
- Any of the individual restaurants featured in the app.
All brand names, logos, and images belong to their respective owners.
3. Playing Nice (Sharing Guidelines)
We provide a "Magic Link" sharing feature (powered by Google Firebase) so you and your friends can compare bookmarks. By using this feature, you promise:
- Not to spam, flood, scrape, or try to crash our list-sharing database.
- Not to use the optional "Your Name" box to write offensive, hateful, or inappropriate things.
- Not to attempt to hack, change, or delete anyone else's shared list.
If anyone breaks these rules, we reserve the right to delete their shared lists, reset nicknames, or block their access to the app.
4. Responsibility (Don't Sue Us)
We built this app for fun and as a gift to the community. We are not responsible for any issues that arise from using it. This means we aren't liable for things like travel costs, gas money, disappointed stomachs, or incorrect menu information.
5. Oregon Law
These terms, and any issues relating to this website, will be governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States.
6. Changes to These Terms
We might tweak these rules as the app evolves. If we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Using the site after we update the terms means you agree to the new ones.
